CINCINNATI — A second 18-year-old woman has died after a Memorial Day crash in Norwood, according to a report from the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

Police said a car crashed into several utility poles at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Cleneay Avenue Monday.

Norwood police said officers were pursuing a car that was reported stolen at a Frisch’s about a mile away. Police said the pursuit was called off because it was getting too dangerous, but they then saw the car crash into two poles, splitting the vehicle in half.

Destiny Starks, 18, was pronounced dead after being taken to the UC Medical Center, according to the Hamilton County coroner.

The other woman involved in the crash remained in critical condition for two days before she also died. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified her as 18-year-old Alexus Hill.

“We’ve turned the accident over to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Safety Unit,” said Lt. Mark Vickers. “They’re going to be working this crash for us and they’ll be able to determine, put more of the pieces together as far as speed.”

No other cars were involved in the crash.
