Overview:

Dr. Anisa Shomo celebrates her 40th birthday with a new crochet hairstyle adventure, choosing short, blonde bohemian braids by Mayde Beauty to match her red outfits. As a cancer survivor, she plans to celebrate for at least one month and looks forward to more beauty adventures.

Most people would call me adventurous. I have volunteered in Haiti, ran marathons, learned a new language, traveled alone, etc. I have also embarked on hair adventures. Let’s go natural! Done. Let’s find natural hair products! Done. My latest hair adventure has been exploring different crochet hair styles. The possibilities are endless! I have had different color long braids: red, blonde, green, pink, and purple. My birthday is next week so I wanted to try something different. I am turning 40 years-old and I discovered that it is called the “Ruby Jubilee.” Red is one of my favorite colors, so I had a “don’t threaten me with a good time” moment. I composed two beautiful red outfits and booked a photo shoot with Terrance Marshall of Shanghai Imaging. I pondered which hairstyle would match my red outfits best. I decided on short, blonde bohemian braids by Mayde Beauty. It was almost sold out, but I managed to find a few packs on Amazon. My hair stylist, Tiffany of Tiffany’s Beauty and Barber Studio, completed the crochet install and I was off to the photo shoot! I am enjoying celebrating my birthday month. As a cancer survivor, I will absolutely celebrate for at least one month. I am extremely grateful to reach my 40th birthday and I look forward to more adventures in beauty.

Happy April!
