Ann Everson-Price, Cincinnati’s Queen of Gospel, was recently recognized with a resolution presented by the Cincinnati City Council as a part of Women’s History month and in celebration of her 40 years in broadcasting. She was presented with a proclamation by Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney recognizing her and expressing the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for her outstanding career in media and community support in Cincinnati and abroad.

According to the resolution, P. Ann Everson-Price is a 40-year veteran media and television personality who represents the “Queen City” of Cincinnati. She is also a business owner, actress, entertainer, mentor, public speaker, choir director, as well as a life/personal coach.

Everson-Price is an ordained minister at the House of Joy Christian Ministries, where she utilizes her talents to uplift our community, and she is a funeral celebrant for J.C. Battle & Sons Funeral Homes comforting people through music and kind words.

In addition, Everson-Price has served as a mentor to over 70 young voices as the Director of the Cincinnati Super Choir, which has had the honor of working in collaboration with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Anthony Munoz Foundation, the Cincinnati Ballet, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration and President Barack Obama in 2008.

She is part of the “Artist on Tour Program” taking music to thousands of students in schools throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana as part of her “Jazz to Motown” musical presentations; and she and the All-Star Band have performed three consecutive years for Cincinnati’s Black Music Walk of Fame celebration and she changed history as the first African American female to host a midday gospel show, on Cincinnati’s WCIN radio station; and

Everson-Price has a forthcoming book called “Miracles…How I Almost Missed Them!” discussing her legendary career and legacy

She has held theatrical roles off-Broadway with mega producer Donald Lawrence, and national tours with co-stars Peabo Bryson and Ann Nesby including multiple tours in Japan.

Everson-Price is “a devoted wife, mother of three children, and ‘Nanna’ to eight beautiful grandchildren and three wonderful great-grand babies, she values all people, and is no stranger to struggling or hard work.”

“She is truly the ‘Queen of Gospel Radio,’ a stellar example of perseverance, endurance, and excellence in all that she does for the City of Cincinnati,” the proclamation states.
