Itโs time to try a new dry medium-bodied white wine for the spring and summer. Gavi DOCG La Rocca is a classic white Piedmontese wine, made entirely from the Cortese grape. It is one of the regionโs oldest native varieties. Its name derives from the wineโs original consumer the noble court, corte in Italian. La Rocca comes from marly calcareous soil that lends an unexpected mineral complexity. The soft color is a bright straw yellow. The nose is of white peach, orange rind, cucumber, and melon. Oh, this wine is delicious and tastes of golden raspberries, white peach, lively citrus, and minerality.
Pairs well with light pasta meals, pasta primavera, linguine with clams, crab legs, mussels, and cream of potato soup. For us that love spicy buffalo wings, this is the wine to wash down all that spicy goodness.
Have a glass while sitting on the porch and enjoying your best life. Italian white wines are extremely special and always deliver a unique experience.
