Prescription Chardonnay. Provided

The beautiful warm weather calls for a nice cold glass of chardonnay and a thirst-quenching rosé.

Lloyd Cellars Prescription Vineyards Chardonnay is a vibrant and refreshing expression of California winemaking. Brought to life through a collaboration with grape grower James Reamer. Fermented in stainless steel and not oaked, this winemaking process preserves the natural vibrancy of the grapes while adding depth and texture. I am crazy in love with unoaked chardonnay; the freshness can’t be beat!

The wine is a glimmering pale gold and a twist off cap, with aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and summer white flowers. On the palate its dry with a medium mouthfeel with flavors of bright citrus, ripened pear, bold tropical pineapple, and a hint of toasted almond. I like the refreshing mouthfeel with a crisp stylish finish, and a touch of minerality. The “Prescription” name reflects the winemaker’s precise approach to crafting vibrant balanced wines.

This Chardonnay is versatile and pairs beautifully with grilled shrimp, lima beans with smoked turkey, chicken fried chicken, seared scallops, garden salads, fried mozzarella sticks, herbed goat cheese, and marry me chicken.

The Pale Rose. Provided

The Pale Rosé by Sacha Lichine

The label is interesting and the twist off cap is a nice touch. Made from Grenache, Rolle, Syrah, Cinsault grape varietals. From the same maker that gave us “The Whispering Angel”.

From the Var region of Provence, made for a sophisticated rosé drinker. Named after its transparent pink color. A lovely wine that embodies all the characteristics of an authentic rosé from Provence.

Grapes are harvested during nightfall to prevent oxidation and to preserve the fragrant aromas. The Pale comes from an assemblage of soft pressed juices and left on the lees for a period in stainless steel tanks. Which gives this wine a touch of creaminess. A nose of watermelon, sliced strawberries, and a budding flower bed.

Tastes of watermelon, red licorice, field strawberries, potpourri, tangerine zest, and raspberry hard candy. Pairs with salmon, fish caught in a local lake, pulled pork sliders, tuna fish sandwich, and chicken salad on croissant. I love this pretty pink wine with sushi, Thai dishes, and lemon pepper baked fish. Perfect for long evenings on the deck after a hard day’s work. This wine is a true value and easily found in the retail market.
