Josh Rosé
This rosé from Josh Cellars produces a rosé wine primarily from Grenache grapes sourced from California. The winemaking process often includes a short maceration period to achieve its pink hue and enhance flavor extraction.
Crisp, light-bodied, refreshing, and bursting with bright citrus. On the nose, expect fresh strawberries, white carnations, and stone fruits. In the glass, you’ll taste citrus, white peach, baby strawberries, and watermelon rind. Pairs well with Mediterranean food, scallops, shrimp, and omelets. Joseph Carr created Josh Cellars in 2007 as a tribute to his dad.
Hess Chardonnay
As a classic California Chardonnay, this wine offers aromas of grilled pineapple, a hint of lemon zest, and subtle oak. Hess Select Chardonnay is medium bodied with layered flavors of sliced white peaches and golden delicious apples. With 30% oak fermentation this adds a creamy finish. Donald Hess began his winery in 1978. Today, the next generation of The Hess family continues Donald’s legacy at its original home on Mount Veeder, above the Napa Valley. Pairs great with baked chicken and smoked turkey legs.
Toad Hollow Chardonnay
A light lemon color is an indicator of the fresh characteristics in an Unoaked Chardonnay. This wine has spent its entire life in a stainless-steel tank. Aromatics of fresh pear and Granny Smith apple mingle with ginger root and orange blossom. The mouthfeel is expansive with a balanced crispness. Sourced from family-owned vineyards in Mendocino County. I am crazy about unoaked chardonnay as the crispness is wonderful during hot weather. A few cold glasses are delicious with fried green tomatoes.
Kim Crawford Rosé
This rosé is one of New Zealand’s most exciting and innovative wine producers. The winery started out in a small cottage in Auckland, New Zealand, and since launching in 1996, the label has gained critical acclaim around the globe. Produced using white zinfandel, sauvignon Blanc, and Pinotage grapes. Has a lively nose of bright berry, tropical fruit, and a heavy watermelon taste. A mysterious shade of pink and pairs with salmon. This easy-drinking wine is soft and luscious on the palate. Also offered in a 375 ML bottle which is equal to a half bottle of wine.
Justin Rosé
Justin Rosé is a dry, aromatic, refreshing wine, and versatile. Mostly Syrah that is whole-cluster-pressed and fermented like a white wine, a beautiful salmon color in the glass with bright rambunctious red fruit, crisp gala apple, and subtle herbal notes. There is a peppery and wildflower taste from the Syrah. A wine producer in California Justin Baldwin hosts virtual lesson series. Check out the website as he guides you through wine storage, decanting techniques, tasting wine, and pairing food. I like the entire Justin wine portfolio and the rosé pairs well with pork chops and stuffed fried squash blossoms.
All of these wines are approachable and easily found in most grocery stores.
