Pugnitello Toscana IGT is an ancient Tuscan native grape variety, whose name (little fist) refers to the shape of its cluster. Following its rediscovery it has been researched in collaboration with the universities of Florence, and Pisa. The wine benefits from 20 years of focusing on saving native Tuscan grapes from extinction. Pugnitello is noteworthy for its distinctive characteristics.
A dense purple hue reminiscent of a plush smoking jacket, a remarkably rich nose, offering cinnamon, holiday clove, boysenberry preserves, and dried tobacco leaf. This was my first time drinking Pugnitello and I loved the experience. Velvety smooth tannins, dry red full-bodied, high acidity, continually developing with each sip. Pairs well with spinach dishes and Ossobuco. It’s a unique red wine from Italy and can make an excellent holiday gift.

I enjoyed it with chicken parmesan and a big bowl of homemade minestrone soup. This is a great wine for a new red wine fan.
Cellars At San Felice
This is where tradition combines with advanced technology. The 18th century cellars, carved out of rugged limestone, are extensive. There are rows of red stained oak barrels and halls of large steel vats. Experience experts tasting, blending, and balancing to produce the finest Chianti Classico. Their passion created in 1968 the first Supertuscan, and a renowned Vigorello.
