I’m glad that I discovered the pleasure and quality of Portlandia Wines.

Portlandia Pinot Gris

The grapes used were harvested at night when the skins are most firm. The juice is then placed in steel tanks for fermentation.

After fermentation, the wine rests on its lees in 100% stainless tanks. After six months, the wines are bottled and ready to purchase.

A deliciously dry crisp Pinot Gris. Fresh aromas of lemon zest, crisp pear, stone fruit,  and green apple flavors. A sturdy acidic backbone with lovely mineral notes. Pairs great with Italian rice balls, known as arancini (meaning “little oranges” in Italian, due to their shape and golden color when fried), are a staple of Sicilian cuisine. This wine is a crowd pleaser and pairs with light fall dishes.

Portlandia Cabernet Sauvignon

Produced in Columbia Valley with 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot.A captivating cabernet  sauvignon with bold character, showcasing a luxurious blend of ripe blackberry, and pomegranate. With delicate hints of sweet spice and smoky incense. Its velvety structure is  anchored by mellow tannins. The Syrah truly adds tightness and color to the wine. The merlot adds the cocoa powder fun to the blend. Awesome cabernet sauvignon for fall stews and country fried steaks. Tastes great with black bean burgers and a side of fried parsnips. I heard through the grapevines that Bigfoot himself loves this cabernet sauvignon.

Portlandia Wines has a history In 1999 Damian Davis embarked cross-country for a new job in tech.  He found himself in the Willamette Valley during harvest and fell in awe. By the time he reached his new home, his car was so loaded with bottles. The pull of Oregon’s mesmerizing wine country was persistent. Damian found the Willamette Valley to be a Pinot lover’s dream. He was so smitten, that in 2008 he left his tech career to pursue a new start in the wine industry and founded Portlandia.
