The country of Georgia is a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and West Asia. It’s part of the Caucasus region, bounded by the Black Sea to the west, and Russia to the north. Where beautiful wine is produced with attention to detail and passion.

Kisi is a white wine grape variety of the Georgian Republic. The ancient grape is currently in the early stages of a revival from near extinction.

Terra Kisi is a grape selection blend crafted from five distinct grape varieties: Chardonnay, Kisi, Khikhvi, Mtsvane, and Krakhuna. This harmonious union of grapes results in a wine that is both aromatic and balanced. Showcasing the unique characteristics of each varietal. Enjoy the diverse array of aromas, pear, tropical mango, creamy vanilla, and earthy hazelnut. Incredible tastes of vanilla bean, cream, brown sugar, Asian pears, pineapples, and a bright acidity.

Very delicious and off dry with a touch of sweetness, and 13.5% ABV. Lovely for the warmer weather and lighter foods. Pairs well with seared sea scallops, shrimp and grits. The high acidity compliments lox and bagels, honey ham biscuit sandwiches.

Tvishi Dugladze a light sweet white wine from the Lechkhumi region of Georgia. Crafted from the rare Tsolikouri grape, offers delicate notes of dried apricot, honey, spring wild flowers, and sprite melon. Tastes of whipped honey, apricots, sultanas, mango, and candied orange rind.

Ideal for pairing with oysters, cold noodle salads, and decadent desserts. Dugladze Tvishi delivers a refined sweetness. Very delicious 11% ABV and a nice part of the overall flavor profile. This Tvishi is also a suitable match with spicy dishes and calms down the heat. I enjoyed a glass with a barbequed chicken sandwich.

Both Georgian wines are spectacular and deserve a try. Georgian wines keep on giving with each sip and are undervalued by wine drinkers. It’s a good idea to keep trying new wines and learn as you sip.
