Prosecco is a sparkling wine from the Veneto region of Italy and made from the glera grape. Prosecco is produced by the charmat method, also known as the tank method. As of 2019 Prosecco comes in a rose variety made from 85% glera and 15% pinot noir. Prosecco is a great substitute for Champagne.
Prosecco consists of large frothy bubbles and a golden delicious apple bouquet, and typically tastes of ripened peaches, pears, and honeysuckle.
The bubbles are short lived like all sparkling wines. Try adding a splash of peach nectar to prosecco (no ice) for a Bellini cocktail.
