Wine 101:

Prosecco is a popular sparkling wine that can be enjoyed on special occasions or for everyday enjoyment. It is made from Glera grapes and undergoes a filtration, alcoholic fermentation, and aging process before being bottled. Valdo Winery in Italy produces a classic version and a rosé prosecco that are characterized by their rich bubbles and distinctive flavors. They pair well with a variety of foods, such as seafood, fish, chicken salad, and Alfredo pasta dishes.

Prosecco is a magnificent easy drinking sparkling wine for everyday and special occasions.

Cost effective when entertaining a large crowd and looks grand on a dinner table. A wonderful wine for spring and summer patio fun and can top off any cocktail with flair.

How is Prosecco Produced

Glera grapes are harvested in September when the grapes have reached the right degree of ripeness. Once collected the juice or (must) is then filtered and the initial alcoholic fermentation is activated. The wine sits for several weeks in a steel tank as part of the aging process. Then bottled and fashioned with a designer label.

The Valdo Winery in Italy

Valdo’s history is the story of the Bolla family and an entrepreneurial spirit. Three generations linked to the promise of great prosecco.

Plenty to Choose From

Valdo makes an exceptional prosecco including a classic version and a rosé.

The classic version is produced of 100% glera with a nose of wildflowers and pink lady apples.

Rich big frothy bubbles tantalize the tongue while tastes of lemon peel, sprite melon, and sliced apples envelop your palette.

The rosé prosecco is produced from 90% glera and 10% pinot noir.

A beautiful soft pink hue while fresh spring flowers, Golden Delicious apples, and ripened pears offer an exciting nose.

Pairing both sparkling wines

Fried seafood, fresh fish, chicken salad, mushroom stuffed ravioli, lobster mac & cheese, sashimi, and Alfredo pasta dishes. Serve these sparkling wines in a large wine glass and allow all the senses to indulge.
